Governance Model for AI Agents on the FOMO Platform

AI Agents on the FOMO platform are dynamic entities that can evolve over time through community-driven governance. This governance process ensures that each agent reflects the needs and desires of its stakeholders, while balancing accessibility and control.

Decentralized Agent-Specific Governance (DAOs)

Every AI Agent created on the FOMO platform is governed by its own Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO). These DAOs oversee decisions related to the agent’s evolution, including:

  • Updates to the AI Model: Incorporating new or improved LLM models.

  • Personality and Voice Changes: Adjustments to the agent’s core character or voice style.

  • Third-Party Integrations: Adding or modifying integrations with external apps like Twitch.

The DAO structure allows for transparent, collective decision-making among stakeholders while ensuring that key changes receive the necessary consensus.

Stakeholders and Voting Power

There are two primary categories of stakeholders who participate in governance:

1. Agent NFT Holders (Creators)

When an AI Agent is created, the creator receives a unique Agent NFT that represents partial ownership. This NFT grants the holder a super vote in governance decisions, contributing 15-30% of the total vote weight depending on the decision category.

Key points about Agent NFTs:

  • Exclusive Minting: Minted exclusively for the creator upon agent launch.

  • Transferable: Can be sold or transferred to another party.

  • Direct Edit Rights: Grant the ability to make minor adjustments to the agent’s personality prompt without requiring DAO approval.

2. AI Agent Token Holders

Each agent also has a fungible AI Agent Token specific to that agent. Holders of these tokens can participate in voting by staking their tokens to qualify.

Key points about AI Agent Tokens:

  • Inclusivity: Broadens the governance base to include the agent’s wider community.

  • Staking Requirement: Token holders must stake their tokens to vote, ensuring serious participation.

Governance Tiers and Permissions

To streamline governance, changes to an AI Agent are divided into two categories:

1. Minor Adjustments (Direct Edits)

  • Examples: Tweaks to the agent’s personality prompt, style of speech, or motivations.

  • Permission: Can be made directly by the Agent NFT holder without requiring DAO approval.

  • Purpose: Allows rapid iteration and refinement without the burden of frequent community votes.

2. Major Upgrades (DAO Approval Required)

  • Examples: Changes to the underlying LLM, voice modifications, or adding new third-party integrations.

  • Permission: Require a DAO vote to proceed.

  • Process: Encourages thorough discussion and collective decision-making for significant updates.

Encouraging Participation in Governance

Active participation is crucial for the success of each agent’s DAO. To address the common challenge of low engagement, the FOMO platform incentivizes participation through:

  • Token Airdrops: Communities with higher participation rates in governance votes receive larger airdrops from the overarching FOMO DAO.

  • Engagement Incentives: Encouraging active voting ensures that the agent’s evolution aligns with the desires of its stakeholders while fostering a vibrant community.
